My initial impression of the Harn Museum was one of awe. I enjoyed the exhibitions, especially the Modern Art exhibit, as well as the various gardens, such as the water garden that was found around the museum.

This first piece is apart of the good life collection and is called Scene on Snake Key, Gulf Coast. It is an oil canvas which shows a man and his dog walking back from what looks like a fishing trip, judging by what looks like a tackle box that he is holding. This painting is a depiction of the good life through its simplicity. The man and the dog both seem to be enjoying themselves, though we cannot know the thoughts or emotional being of the man, by the looks of the painting we can see that he is enjoying his life. He has enough time to go on a fishing trip with his dog that they both seem to be enjoying, meaning that most likely he does not have much to worry about at the time. The painting can also help someone see the good life, through its simple nature. It shows that you do not need extravagance or money to be happy or live the good life. Your good life can be as simple as going out on a fishing trip with your furry companion.

This picture is dubbed Untitled. I do not believe it truly shows what the good life is however it can go hand in hand with the painting above. Both the picture and the painting show extremely relaxed individuals who seem to be just going about their day. This could teach some people that you may be living the good life through your daily actions. Simply walking down the road or going fishing and being relaxed and carefree could be what your good life is. Maybe the good life isn't as complicated to achieve as we originally believe, perhaps the good life is simply these little relaxed moments, like what is depicted in the pictures, that are pieced together by us and dubbed "The Good Life".
