As this class comes to a close I can't really say I have a greater grasp on the good life, however, I can say that I understand the importance and ways to achieve the good life in more depth. I have learned that the good life does not automatically mean happiness, it is a different experience for everyone and you may never achieve the good life but you will strive as much as you possibly can to attain it.
Randy Pausch talks of his childhood dreams and how there were some that he couldn't dream of attaining and others which he did attain, like becoming an Imagineer. I believe that he attained a sense of the good life despite his terminal illness which ultimately resulted in his death. He was happy and accepting of his circumstances however, he had no real regrets and spent his last, short portion of his life being productive and doing things not only for himself but his family as well. From all that I have read about the good life and all that I have deduced from it, Randy Pausch seemed to have achieved what we deem a good life. Not only did he achieve it but he passed on the knowledge of his ways of living through his published works and lectures. I truly admire Mr. Pausch for living such a vibrant life, even at the end when things seemed darkest. I also admire him for passing on his knowledge to his students, knowledge that could change people's lives for the better.
