Governing a Good Life

The Declaration of Independence gives Americans the right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" . In Bhutan, they are considered the country with the highest rate of happiness and their government strives to make people happy above all else. They believe that people's happiness will lead to a successful economy and government. Is it true that happiness can lead to a prospering economy? In my opinion, I believe this to be true. If you have happy citizens then they will work more efficiently and effectively. Bhutan is a prime example of a prospering economy that contains citizens that are happy with their lives.

If the opportunity to pursue you own happiness is given to you by the people who govern over you then it is your duty to take it. Some places govern with a harsh hand and allow little freedoms to their citizens, making them solely into workers and not considering their conditions of living let alone their happiness. It is our duty to take up our frredoms and pursue our happiness, especially since not everybody is given the opportunity to do so. Governments who work hard to achieve their people's happiness and prosperity are sure to become sucessful, prospering one's.
