Pilgrimage

A pilgrimage is a cathartic journey for a religious person who finds a deeper meaning in their religion by travelling to places of religious significance. Seen throughout almost all religions this experience can even stem to highly devoted fan groups such as those of Elvis as seen in the article. It can change many or reassure others of their faith, this journey can be instrumental in the development of religious and loyal people alike as seen with Malcom X who completely changed his mind on the possibility of coexistence between American whites and blacks.

These pilgrimages help unite people of faith and truthfully help secure it, which may be why Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world with its pilgrimage to Mecca (like Malcom X did) being one of the core responsibilities of being a Muslim.

I have never been one of strong religious faith or background but I understand the reassurance of going somewhere important to reassure your faith and beliefs. I ride Horses, it’s my passion, and whenever I go to a horse show, I can feel all the passion and dedication that everyone around me and before me has poured into riding like I have and I can’t help but feel a fire inside that reassures me of my passion even more.
